Course Overview

The Foundation Program for Navigation Officer Cadets at MMA is designed for students who aspire to join the Navigation Officer Cadet Program but do not meet the full entry requirements. This preparatory course provides the academic grounding and skill development needed to progress confidently into the Officer Cadet Course.

 

Through a focused curriculum, students strengthen their knowledge in core subjects such as mathematics, science, and English, while also being introduced to the fundamentals of maritime studies. In addition, the programme builds essential discipline, study habits, and personal development skills required for success in a demanding seafaring career.

Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Sat for the GCE A/L Examination in Mathematics, Biology, or Technology stream
  • 6 passes at the GCE O/Level Examination, including 3 ‘C’ passes in English, Mathematics, and Science
  • Age between 18–21 years
